Champion Charities hosted the 3rd Salute to the Titans breakfast on October 6, 2009, at the Merchant’s Exchange Building, kicking off President’s Cup week. The event continued its tradition of honoring individuals making distinguished contributions to the worlds of business, athletics, and philanthropy with the selection of Joe Louis Barrow, Jr.
As many may know, Joe has led The First Tee for the past nine years. Through his involvement and leadership, golf has become more available and accessible to a new generation of players. With the same tenacity his father showed in the boxing ring, Joe seeks to continue to expose the game of golf and its corresponding Nine Core Values to even more than the 3 million youth around the world already involved in the program.
The event’s proceeds benefited the San Francisco chapter of the First Tee, the Northern California Golfers Association “Youth on Course” program, and Champion Charities.
In addition to our generous Title Sponsors, JMP Group & Harvest Capital Strategies, the following donors also assisted in making the event a success once again:
Murray Bodine, Hewlett-Packard Company, James Family Foundation, NorWest Ventures, Frank “Sandy” Tatum, Jr., and Lott Automotive.
